Cafe le Majestik is a bustling Chinese restaurant in Scarborough that leans heavily into the authentic flavors and casual dining experience of a Hong Kong-style café. Positioned on Markham Road, it draws a mix of locals who come for the familiar comfort of Cantonese staples, especially at lunch and early dinner hours when the place tends to get busy, often requiring a short wait for a table.

The interior balances functionality with a modest, cozy vibe that fits well for a quick meal with friends or a solo lunch break. While the decor isn't flashy, there’s enough space between tables to avoid feeling cramped, though sitting near air vents can be a bit chilly at times. Friendly, if somewhat reserved, service supports the experience without much flair — it’s a spot where the food naturally takes center stage.

Menu highlights point toward classic Hong Kong café dishes that rely on comforting, well-executed flavors rather than reinvention. The dim sum combos and wonton shrimp dumplings provide a satisfying start or shared snack, while heartier options like curry beef brisket with rice and baked beef and egg clay pot rice deliver on portion size and richness. HK style milk tea and sweet treats such as the Hong Kong-style egg tarts and red bean toast add touches of nostalgia for those familiar with this cuisine.

This place will appeal most to diners seeking straightforward Cantonese fare at reasonable prices, especially those familiar with Hong Kong’s casual dining culture. It’s not a place for elaborate multi-course meals or quiet fine dining — instead, it’s practical and welcoming for everyday meals, whether catching up with friends over milk tea or grabbing a quick lunch break.

While the restaurant mostly operates in Cantonese and the use of QR codes for ordering means visits may feel a bit transactional, the food quality and portion size keep regulars coming back. For visitors less comfortable with Cantonese, bringing along someone who can help with communication is advisable, especially when making reservations or asking for specific accommodations.

Overall, Cafe le Majestik offers a taste of Hong Kong’s casual café culture right in Scarborough, best visited during off-peak times to avoid crowds and enjoy a warm bowl of curry beef brisket or dim sum sampler in a straightforward, inviting setting.

Café Le Majestik is hands down one of the best authentic Hong Kong cafés in Scarborough! The food tastes just like what you’d find in Hong Kong — from the perfectly done HK-style milk tea to the baked rice, noodles, and toast combos, everything is flavorful and comforting. The portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the service is friendly and quick. The cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for a casual meal or a nostalgic HK-style brunch. If you’re craving authentic cha chaan teng flavors without flying to Hong Kong, Café Le Majestik is a must-visit.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Café Le Majestik. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, stylish, and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome right away. it’s the kind of place where you can relax with friends, enjoy a quiet moment alone, or even get some work done. Everything from the service to the food exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Café Le Majestik

Food was decently tasty. Personal favourites are the hainese chicken rice and curry rice balls. Decent ambiance and decor. Seating is decently spacious. Good spot if you’re craving cantonese food. The table we sat was a bit cold as it was under an air vent - the AC was blasting on top of us. We asked one server and was refused to be moved. Another server was kind enough to offer a different solution by turning down the AC. Would recommend you move if you are uncomfortable before you order as there is no flexibility in moving seats afterwards.

It was our first time trying this place out, and it did not disappoint. We did have to wait about 20 minutes before getting a table as it was quite busy. As we placed our order using the QR code provided, the interactions with the servers were limited. The one who brought our food was friendly and got us everything we had asked for. Although they would never verbally ask if everything was okay, our waitress walked up from behind and looked at our table a few times (which I assumed was her way of checking up on us?). We decided to order the baked cheese chicken cutlet over rice, Singaporean turnip cakes, and the beef stir fried noodles with black pepper. Our food was quick to arrive, and the overall flavour of the food was nice especially the turnip cakes and black pepper stir fry noodles. The baked cheese chicken cutlet over rice was a little underwhelming. They did not use white rice. The one they used was yellow and was quite mushy to taste which I didn’t enjoy. The chicken was also quite soggy as well and had a lot of tendon making it hard to chew. Each dish was around $15 each (not including tax) which is inexpensive for its portion size. Overall, I would come back to this restaurant as the food itself was quite nice. They also have plenty of options to choose from making it easy to try something new with every visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who like HK fusion food.

A place with affordable prices and good food. Portion sizes are very reasonable as well. There is plenty of seating so there is a high chance that you will be seated without having to wait. I believe that this place doesn't speak English at all so you might need someone that knows Cantonese in order to understand / make reservations if necessary.

I love coming here because of the food and atmosphere. The interior looks just like a Hong Kong cafe back in the day. They have unique dishes on the menu, and everything that we ordered were delicious! The service was good.

If you're into H.K style cafe's and I certainly am, this should be one place at the top of your list. It's an unassuming looking location that cares not for the decor but more on a family style joint focusing more on flavour and budget friendly prices. The only thing I'd stay away from is probably the dimsum because you can definitely get better at more friendly price points elsewhere. Everything else however is on point. Anyone who's eaten H.K style food will find the flavours very familiar and comforting. I will definitely make this place a regular in my rotation and steer clear of the dimsum selection.
